In order to improve the quality of service for applicants applying for a Russian visa a new Russian Visa Center is in operation in the Consular District of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Tokyo.

The objectives of the Center are: speed up and facilitate the visa procedure, create the most comfortable conditions for applicants, clarify the rules of entry and stay in the Russian Federation, check the completeness of documents that are required for obtaining a visa as well as represent the interests of applicants at the Embassy when submitting (collecting) documents on their behalf.

The final decision to issue or refuse a Russian visa as well as the issuance of visa itself to foreign nationals outside the Russian Federation lies with the respective Russian Consular institutions. 

Individual applicants have the right to apply directly to the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to obtain a private visa for close relatives of Russian citizens (spouse, parents (adoptive parents), children (foster children), children’s spouses, full and half siblings, grandparents, grandchildren) who live in Japan, as well as to obtain an emergency visa by making an online prior appointment by the phone 03-3583-4445.

In order to exclude cases of fraud with the pre-registration system, we accept documents only from those applicants whose personal data was entered into the system during the registration of the application. In case of discrepancy of the information indicated in the system with the data of the applicant whose documents are submitted to the Consular Section, those documents will not be considered. One time slot in the system provides the possibility of submitting only one set of documents to the Consular Division.

In order to get access to the services provided by the Consular Section of the Russian Embassy we are kindly asking you to book an appointment on the web site. In case you don't make an appointment the services of the Consular Section of the Embassy won't be provided.

There is a change in a form of payment of consular fees since July 1, 2019. Only bank transfers or credit card payment (“Visa” or “Mastercard”) are accepted. Payment by cash is not accepted. Thank you for your kind cooperation.
